Portable Appliance Testing (routinely known as PAT Testing) is the process of routinely checking the electrical safety of appliances by carrying out a series of checks and tests to ensure their electrical safety.
PAT Testing is not a legal requirement in itself however the law does require employers to ensure all electrical equipment is safe and properly maintained. This means that PAT testing is a critical part of your company’s health and safety and should be considered part of a solution to your safety concerns.
PAT testing provides the most effective way to identify defects that can come with use. Faults in electrical equipment pose a potential hazard, particularly if they are not repaired readily.
PAT Testing is generally carried out once per year however this frequency may vary due to a number of factors such as the environment which the appliance is in, its use and likelihood of damage. Please contact us for further information and advice.
Most insurance companies will expect a valid PAT testing certificate to be in place for a business premises. Failure to have items PAT tested may adversely affect your insurance cover in the event of a claim.
Our engineers will work with you to ensure the minimum disruption occurs during the testing process to ensure impact on your business is minimal. Out of hours visits can also be arranged if this would be beneficial.
